Rewire Your Whole Org with AI

In my conversations with CEOs, AI comes up a lot: ChatGPT or Claude? How are you using it? What have you tried? Are you changing roles and expectations? What are you seeing across the sector?

There were some interesting conversations:

  • “I created a full training handbook for new managers. It ended up being 300 pages of content, with 12 months’ worth of modules. And I did that in less than a day's worth of back and forth work in between while I was doing other meetings.” —CEO of a large legacy nonprofit
  •  "I’ve been really thinking about an executive team meeting where you do all your pre-work with AI. Bring those ideas together, and then put the AI aside. Have a group conversation, and do the best human thinking and collaboration together…And then we use AI again to say, ‘What else are we not thinking of? Poke holes in this.’" —CEO of a large US religious nonprofit

I’ve been wondering if anyone was actually making significant changes in how they accomplished their mission by using AI. I was wondering when a CEO would articulate a vision for AI-fueled transformation for their nonprofit.

Then, one CEO of a large human services organization said, "We are starting a move from a place where we use digital products as tools to advance our impact to a space where we partner with technology to advance our impact. What if my 100 FTEs could be supported by an army of AI agents? What could that then free up those humans to do?"

And then I talked with Bill Simmons.
